Winter Wonderland

21 Nov 2009 - 03 Jan 2010

Hyde Park

Open between 10am to 10pm – please note that the event will not open on Christmas day.
London’s largest and most dazzling winter event returns to the heart of the Capital for six whole weeks of festive fun. With no admission fee, Winter Wonderland offers the best Christmas day-out in the UK, with beautifully themed attractions set out under thousands of twinkly lights.

With over 1.5 million visitors to date, Winter Wonderland 2009 introduces even more rides, attractions & games never before seen in the UK, across 20 acres of Hyde Park’s historic parkland. The event features the Largest Outdoor Ice Rink in Central London and the iconic 95.8 Capital FM’s Giant Wheel with 40 heated pods offering truly spectacular views across the city.
Winter Wonderland also boasts the most atmospheric German Christmas Market in the country, with over 60 individual Tyrolean-style chalets selling unique & quirky gifts. New for 2009, visitors can enjoy Zippo’s Christmas Circus in its very own heated big-top with a 45 minute show especially created for Winter Wonderland, at 7pm the big-top magically transforms into a ‘Palace of Illusions’.

Our free Father Christmas which Time Out named ‘Best Outdoor Experience’ will be
welcoming children with a surprise gift and this year he resides in his very own Santa’s Village.

Advance tickets are available for ice skating (which sold out in record time last year) along with the Wheel & Circus. Other attractions operate on a pay-as you-ride basis, with prices starting at just £2 for under 12s and £3 for those aged 12 & over. With free live music ranging from choirs to Oompah bands, Winter Wonderland offers good value entertainment for all the family.
