My friend and I visited the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium at Half Term with three boys aged 10, 11 and 13. With two floors of lots of hands-on activities, it is a great place for children to have fun whilst also being educational. The exhibits are excellent and it was fantastic to be able to give the children freedom to explore in this interactive safe environment. All indoors so it didn’t matter that it was drizzling!
We had tickets for the Planetarium to see the “Secret of the cardboard rocket”, a journey where you visit all the eight planets. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show and the planetarium is very impressive. I would recommend that you book the tickets before you come as the shows were mostly sold out and it would be a shame to miss out.
There is a café upstairs which serves delicious food and a large picnic area downstairs so you can bring your own food if you prefer, with both areas serving hot and cold drinks.
I would definitely recommend the Winchester Science Centre.
