Just in time for February half-term the latest Ripley's Believe It or Not! London exhibition will hold an eclectic curation of costumes, props and fantastic facts from Tim Burton's fantasy movie 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children'. Kids will love seeing the collection of genuine items created for the film! Including outfits worn by the stars as well as items such as Miss Peregrine's Birdcage, Enoch's Heart in a Jar and Barron's snack of choice... eyeballs!

2. IMAGINE CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL AT SOUTHBANK CENTRE

Just in time for some half-term fun for the family, the Southbank Centre Imagine Children's Festival is packed with free events, and coincides with the start of Southbank’s Scandi-centric Nordic Matters programme. The Imagine Children’s Festival returns for a fortnight of fun that’ll stimulate, excite and intrigue your little ones. Including an orchestral double-bill of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom, talks with Lauren Child and Michael Morpurgo, doodle workshops, robot hacking, a pyjama party and much more.

3. MAGICAL LANTERN FESTIVAL AT CHISWICK HOUSE AND GARDENS
 19 January 2017 - 26 February 2017

 

The Magical Lantern Festival London has returned for a second year and as it comes to a close make sure you get the kids down there for an evening of entertainment. With a celebration of lanterns and Chinese culture at Chiswick House and Gardens this festival looks at the Chinese New Year of the Rooster 2017 and the cultural significance surrounding the event. This year follow the illuminating outdoor installations of beautifully sculpted lanterns as they highlight the route of trade and culture from Europe to Ancient China. You'll also find an international range of food and beverage vendors, festival merchandise, a 30-metre synthetic ice-rink, 3D lantern photo opportunities, virtual reality gaming experience, Chinese bamboo lantern riddles and a mini funfair and games. Festival is open from the 19th January to 26th February 2017. Open Thursday to Sunday each week from 5.00pm to 10.00pm (open every day during February school half term holidays)

4. ROBOTS AT THE SCIENCE MUSEUM

8 February 2017 - 3 September 2017

 

Are you ready for the Science Museums latest exhibition that explores the 500-year story of humanoid robots and the artistic and scientific quest to understand what it means to be human? You'll discover the collection of over 100 robots from the past all the way up to modern-day research labs and robots from science fiction. Kids might even have the chance to interact with one of the robots from the exhibition and you'll be able to see one of the first walking two-legged robots.

5. VETS IN ACTION AT LONDON ZOO
11 February 2017 - 19 February 2017

 

This February half-term in London kids will be able to truly step into the role of a vet at ZSL London Zoo, during a packed week of interactive family events celebrating the incredible work of the Zoo’s vet team. Kids can become Zoo vets at the Animal Hospital and join in exciting role-playing activities which is the perfect experience for budding veterinarians. Children will help experts examine, x-ray and carry out toy treatments - experiencing first-hand the huge variety of work carried out by the Zoo’s vets, vet nurses and zookeepers on a daily basis. 6. SPECTACULAR SCIENCE AT LONDON MUSEUM OF WATER & STEAM
13 February 2017 - 17 February 2017


Take the kids to London Museum of Water & Steam this half-term and have fun discovering the hidden secrets of the River Thames. Drop into the daily science explorer sessions to discover the monsters that lurked in its watery depths and search the engine rooms for hidden germs before making your own Mini Microbe Monster to take home! Thomas Wicksteed our Steam Locomotive will also be giving rides all week.

7. LOVE HEART HUNT AT BATTERSEA PARK CHILDREN'S ZOO
11 February 2017 - 19 February 2017


How many love hearts will you find around the zoo? Fun for the whole family in London this February half-term. As you go around the zoo count up how many love hearts you can see amongst all the animals; post your answer in the shop to be entered into the draw to win a “Family Day Ticket”. Good luck! 8. STORYTELLING AND MUSIC SESSIONS AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL
17 January 2017 - 12 April 2017


This half-term your kids can experience the Royal Albert Hall's history of music, movement and dance with three expert storytellers as they deliver session for babies and toddlers. These sessions aim to engage and encourage interaction between parents/carers and your little ones by using musical instruments, singing, movement and stories. 9. THE ROBOT ZOO AT HORNIMAN MUSEUM AND GARDENS
11 February 2017 - 29 October 2017

 

Opening in time for February half-term, The Robot Zoo at Horniman Museum and Gardens is a great day out for the whole family. This hands-on exhibition teaches visitors about some of nature's cleverest inventions using robots, children can watch as machines and gadgets are brought to life. Kids will also be able to participate in squid racing, learn why a chameleon can change colour and design their own mutant robot!

10. EXPLORE THE HMS BELFAST THIS HALF-TERM
11 February 2017 - 19 February 2017


During half-term jump aboard the HMS Belfast and see what life was like on this floating city, families can weave their way through the bowels of the ship and climb up and down ladders across all nine decks. A great chance to explore the whole boat and kids will love the chance to take the helm in the Captain's chair and join in interactive games. Don't forget to go up on the flag deck and see the 360-degree views of London.
