The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead review for kids

The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead

LGWTC Guidance:  Snow-tastic!

My son and his friend, both 10 are going on a ski trip this Easter so I took them to The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead for their very first ski lesson.
It was a first ski and a first visit to the centre. You can’t help but be amazed when you enter the complex, it is quite spectacular. The staff made everything really easy for us, explaining exactly where to go and what to do.

The boys were booked in for a one hour beginner lesson and once they had been kitted out with ski boots, skis and helmets they met their instructor Max. He was very patient with the boys and checked all their equipment before whisking them off to the slopes.

I headed up to the viewing gallery for a lovely coffee to watch the boys!
The facilities were great, you can sit very comfortably and watch the skiing through huge windows. The boys were very impressed with their instructor, saying he was great fun and gave them lots of encouragement which put them at ease. My son said ”The hardest part was getting up the slope by walking sideways, but once we mastered that he taught us some great moves including jumping!”
They really enjoyed themselves and are extremely keen to go again and put into practice what they have learned. I would definitely recommend The Snow Centre: it is well run, safe and enjoyable for all.
