Shark Reef Encounter

at the Sea Life London

We have just had a wonderful day at the Sea Life Aquarium in London. I visited with my eight year old son and what a fantastic experience!
The first area you come to is the amazing new Shark Reef Encounter. There are 16 sharks including Sand Tiger sharks, Brown sharks and Black Tip Reef Sharks all in a huge glass tank which spans over three floors.
You enter the Shark encounter by crossing a glass bridge and watch the sharks swimming under you, just inches away. My son thought this was “Totally awesome “. As you work your way around the Pacific display you can marvel at the wonderful creatures gliding around their themed home. The staff were fantastic, on hand to answer questions and helping you to respect these misunderstood sea creatures. We were given the opportunity to touch real shark skin and inspect some shark teeth, so interesting and something my son is still talking about.
We then went on to explore the other 13 different zones in the Aquarium, which are home to around 500 species of aquatic life. Such a wonderful display of sea creatures to look at and all had clear information so it was extremely educational, perfect as  children and adults can learn whilst having fun. Many of the creatures are on the endangered list, so you feel very privileged to be able to see them.
There was so much to see and learn. I would truly recommend a visit to the Sea Life Aquarium, an inspiring experience for both adults and children alike.
