Tatton Park is a historic estate with four attractions set in a 1000 acre deer park: a Neo-Classical Mansion, 50 acre Gardens, a Tudor Old Hall and the working 1930’s Home Farm. The Farm originally provided food for the Egerton family and for all those who lived on the estate, and today it is still an authentic working farm carrying out traditional working practices. The Farm has been awarded Rare Breeds Accreditation for its commitment to sustaining, breeding and promoting rare breed farm animals including Red Poll cattle, Tamworth and Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and Leicester Longwool sheep – all these animals are around to meet at the farm and there are also horses, donkeys, goats and poultry. There is a new all weather play area with toy tractors and trailers and a fun programme of events throughout the year. Plan your visit around Lambing Week, the Harvest Festival or the Fun Dog Show, and come to visit during school holidays when children’s activities include den-building, donkey-grooming and egg-collecting. Each Christmas and Easter the Farm is part of Tatton’s general themed activities and always offers a fun and entertaining day out.
