The Borrowers

Mary Norton's The Borrowers is one of the most important children's novels of the past decades (Carnegie Medai for Children's Literature 2007), hugely popular it gets a special Christmas treatment at the Nuffield Theatre. Here is a review from one family who went to see the show and loved it!

What a great show for children! I took my boys to see this and they absolutely loved seeing Arietty and her family - it was great entertainment from start to finish.

It begins with Arrietty and her parents, who are tiny people who live under the floorboards, and borrow everything.  The production is wonderful as it kept the children engaged, even in the second  half when Arietty and her family moved from under the floor boards to the fields where a  big boot on stage is their new home.

The delightful and friendly cast had the children up on the stage cleaning the boot which the kids loved, and engaged them all to  join in with the antics! There was music and jokes and I can thoroughly recommend taking your children to see this show. Kids of all ages would enjoy as it really is geared towards them, but grown ups will have a great time too.
