The audience waited with eager anticipation as the show got off to a lively start, quite unaware of just how Horrible Science was going to manifest itself!
The scene was quickly set at the gates of Horrible Science World which contained marvellous themed areas covering all of science from electricity, forces to microbiology. There were 3 colourful scientists to explain and educate Billy Miller, the inquisitive schoolboy who needed to learn some science.
Billy Miller’s mission was to understand science and so prevent the World of Horrible Science from coming alive and getting out into the real world, but he did not have long! It was quite a challenge and Billy Miller needed the help of the audience. This was a master stroke and the children in the audience were soon engaged and totally committed to help Billy Miller save the day!
They listened carefully to facts cleverly shared, they shouted out answers at the tops of their voices to save Billy Miller from some cruel fates and they entered into the spirit of the show with delightful interest and enthusiasm. The use of 3D and the need for Boggle Goggles was a sure winner with children and adults alike. It gave the show a marvellous edge as we sped round in Billy Miller’s adventure. I won’t spoil the surprises, go and see it – you will all learn some new science facts and have marvellous fun at the same time. Our sides ached with laughter, not only for the show but also watching the reactions of the kids around us! Mo Cuthbert March 2010
REVIEW BY THOMAS RUSSILL AGED 9
I loved coming to see the production of horrible science with you. This is my review of the performance: The performance of horrible since was fun and joyful for all ages and had fantastic images like they where really walking round the Horrible Science Fun Centre. Then there was the main character called Billy Miller. He was funny, enthusiastic and entertained every one. Not forgetting the scientists that helped him along the way and taught him all about science stuff like blood, bones and body parts, shocking electricity, frightful forces and miniature monsters. Another cool thing was when we had to put boggle goggles on (which where actually 3d glasses) and go into a bathroom and look at 3d tap dancing germs and 3d poo!
Over all this was a fantastic show and I loved it. Thanks Thomas!
