The Birmingham Stage Company is one of the UK’s most successful theatre companies who have specialised in touring top quality stage adaptations of children’s classic books.
This year they celebrate their 18th anniversary with a brand new production of George's Marvellous Medicine adapted by David Wood - one of Roald Dahl's funniest stories. Recent BSC sell-out successes include Jungle Book, Why the Whales Came, Danny the Champion of the World, Horrible Histories and Skellig.
In George’s Marvellous Medicine a young boy makes a marvellous new medicine to cure his grandmother of her terrifying temper. But when she drinks his special new potion the most incredible things start to happen – and it’s the beginning of George’s amazing adventures, providing a wonderfully comic show for all ages 4+ and the whole family, including all non-grumpy grannies!
The show has been a huge hit in Birmingham over the Christmas season and received rave reviews:
“Wonderfully witty. Enters into Dahl’s quirky world with aplomb and enormous glee.” The Times
“ Marvellous! It has all the ingredients needed for a really good family show. Entrancing from start to finish” Birmingham Mail
